I first started noticing my hair starting to thin and recede, when I was in my late 30’s. . I didn’t do anything about it at that time, and I guess I was just hoping that my thinning and receding hair would slow down or at best STOP. That was wishful thinking.
By the time I reached my late 40’s I really started noticing that my hair needed help. When I looked in the mirror, I didn’t even see the familiar reflection of “me” anymore. My hair problem was staring to make me look much older than my actual age. I had heard about hair products such as Propecia and Rogaine, but I knew in my heart that I needed much more help than these products could deliver. I decided to do some research and see what options were available to me. After much research, I came to the conclusion that what I really needed was a hair transplant procedure. At that time I didn’t know anything about hair transplants. I started doing more research and what I discovered about the procedure terrified me. I did not know that the majority of hair restoration procedures offered today required surgery. I found out that the way it’s typically done is by first cutting a large strip of the scalp off in the back portion of the head. Ouch! On top of that, it leaves behind a large “smiley face scar. I had seen enough cowboy and Indian movies to know that being scalped, on any level, was not for me. With that thought and picture in my mind, I decided that maybe I could get used to the fact that I was balding, and that perhaps it’s just my own fate and journey. I repressed the thought of ever looking in the mirror again and seeing the youthful image that I had become accustomed to since I was a young man. I decided then and there that I had better accept this ungraceful fate. One morning about 2 years later, I decided that I just couldn’t take it anymore. When I now looked in the mirror, I didn’t even see a remote image of the real me anymore. It was at that moment I made the decision that I could just become a defeated cowboy and sacrifice a portion of my scalp for the greater good. It was then that I started looking into doctors and clinics that performed the scalping procedure. While I was conducting my research, I ran across a hair restoration method called Follicular Unit Extraction. With this particular procedure, small groups of hair are individually extracted from the back portion of the head and then transplanted to the area of hair loss. There was no surgery and no recovery time. WOW! I had hit the jackpot! “Incredible!” I thought
As I continued researching FUE, I found out that very few that specialists in the U.S. Performed this method of hair restoration.. I expanded my search to now include doctors in other countries. I found a couple of clinics in India and Pakistan that offered FUE hair transplants, but those countries seemed like worlds away from my home state of California in the good old U.S. of A.
I continued my research and one afternoon I ran across something very interesting. It was called The Kaloni Science Center, and FUE procedures are what they specialize in. Hmm.. Science Center, I thought. That’s what I’m looking for. New cutting edge technologies.. Yes!. Best of all they are located in our neighboring country of Mexico. A sigh of relief.. ahh. The thought of having to go to Pakistan or India was just a bit much. Suddenly the solution to my hair problem was just beyond my doorstep and I felt like I had just found the Promise Land. I found out that the doctors at the Kaloni Science Center were true pioneers in the technological advancement of the FUE procedure. The head doctor and founder of KSC is a brilliant plastic surgeon with as much, if not more education and credentials under his belt than most of the other doctors I had researched. His name is Dr. Ariel Diaz, and he truly is a pioneer in the hair restoration field. Not only does he (and his staff of doctors) perform FUE procedures, but also, he has developed a specialized technique that allows him to transplant up to 5000 hairs per session. Dr. Diaz hand picked his staff of doctors and taught them what he coins as “The Kaloni Advantage” method of hair restoration. It is a faster and more efficient methodology. He says “My job is to restore youth, self confidence and self esteem”. What a great job!
With that, I decided to contact The Kaloni Science Center.
